Every on-premises EPMM environment reaches the same decision point: keep paying to run servers, connectors, certificates and a maintenance window, or move to the cloud-native platform and stop. The reason organisations delay is almost always the same fear — that migration means wiping and re-enrolling every device.
It does not. Using Ivanti’s Low User Impact migration tooling, CDTS moves devices between platforms without a factory reset and with minimal user interaction. We have run this pattern repeatedly for Australian government customers, which is why we can be specific about what breaks and how to sequence around it.
A migration engagement starts with an assessment: what is enrolled, which policies are actually in use, which integrations are load-bearing, and what the realistic cutover shape looks like for your user population.

Target platform design

Low user impact migration
Devices moved using Ivanti’s LUI tooling — no factory reset, minimal user interaction, staged by cohort.
Integration cutover
Identity, certificate authority, email, per-app VPN and conditional access reconnected and verified before each wave.
Decommissioning
On-premises infrastructure retired cleanly, with certificate and connector dependencies traced before anything is switched off.
Post-migration operation
CDTS can run the new environment as a managed service from cutover, so the knowledge does not leave when the project closes.

Do users have to wipe their device?
No. Ivanti’s Low User Impact migration path moves supervised and managed devices without a factory reset. Users typically see a prompt and a short reconfiguration rather than a rebuild.
How long does a migration take?
It depends on fleet size, policy complexity and how many integrations are load-bearing. The assessment gives you a sequenced, costed plan before you commit to a cutover date.
What does “(PROTECTED)” mean here?
It is the vendor designation for Ivanti Neurons for MDM (PROTECTED), the platform we migrate to. It describes the product, not a certification held by CDTS.
