Parliamentary & Ministerial
Parliamentary and ministerial environments compress every hard problem in endpoint management into a few weeks, twice per cycle, in front of people who cannot be asked to wait.
The turnover pattern is unlike anything in the rest of government. An election or a reshuffle produces a wave of onboarding and offboarding with an immovable date, involving users who need to be productive immediately and who will route around any process that costs them time. Whatever the environment does badly becomes visible in that fortnight.
The users themselves change the risk profile. Names and roles are public, direct contact details are valuable, and the relationships in an address book can be more sensitive than the content of any single message. That makes the contact list and the mail client the two things most worth getting right, and the two most often left as the platform defaults.
Support has to match sitting hours rather than business hours, and it has to reach people who are not in an office, on a device that is their primary system.
What we focus on in this sector
Scope is agreed per engagement. These are the areas that consistently carry the most value here.
Onboarding that scales in a fortnight
Zero-touch enrolment with devices registered to your organisation at supply, so a wave of new users is a delivery exercise rather than a build queue.
Clean offboarding
Access, directory contacts and managed data removed with the enrolment, leaving no residual copies on a device that has changed hands.
Markings enforced on the handset
Protective markings parsed and enforced on mobile — validated on compose, with read-only handling above a defined classification — rather than treated as text in a subject line.
Contact data under policy
Directory contacts searchable and usable for calling without being written into the personal address book, where they cannot be recovered.
Support on sitting hours
An Australian service desk available when the work happens, staffed by people who know the environment rather than reading from a script.
What changes once it is running properly
- A cycle changeover that does not consume the IT function for a month
- Mobile mail available at the classification it is actually needed at
- Departures that leave nothing behind on the device
- Executive users who do not build their own workarounds

Common questions
How quickly can a wave of new devices be provisioned?
If the devices were registered to your Apple Business Manager or Android Enterprise account at supply, provisioning is limited by delivery rather than by labour — the device configures itself on first boot. If they were not, every handset needs a person, which is exactly the constraint to remove before a cycle, not during one.
Can mobile mail carry protective markings properly?
Yes, with enforcement on the device. MailGate parses [SEC=…] and X-Protective-Marking headers, validates a marking on compose, and applies handling rules — including read-only above a threshold you set — so mobile mail does not have to be classified down.
What happens to a device when a member or staffer leaves?
Managed data and directory access are removed with the enrolment. Because directory contacts are held in a governed container rather than the device address book, there is no residual copy to chase.
Relevant to this sector
Protective markings break the moment mail reaches a handset
The desktop enforces the marking. The phone treats it as text in a subject line. That asymmetry is why so many agencies still classify their mobile mail down.
What a contact list gives away
Nobody classifies the address book, and on a government handset it is often the most sensitive thing on the device. Here is what leaks and how.
Carrier DEP, explained — and why so few resellers can do it
Zero-touch enrolment only works if the device is in Apple Business Manager. Carrier DEP is how carrier-supplied iPhones get there, including ones you already own.
The pattern travels
State & Territory Government
Jurisdictional agencies balancing frontline mobility against budgets and standards that rarely move together.
ExploreCritical Infrastructure & Utilities
SOCI-regulated operators with dispersed field teams, remote sites and obligations that now have teeth.
ExploreHealth & Aged Care
Clinical and care environments where shared devices, patient data and shift work all collide.
