Carrier DEP allows CDTS Australia to manage the entire procurement process and device lifecycle on behalf of our customers — including retrospective zero-touch enrolment via Apple Business Manager.

Common questions about Apple at scale
What is an Apple Premium Technical Partner?
It is an Apple partner designation for organisations with trained technical specialists who provide consultative guidance and technology services to business customers, including those with complex environments. It is distinct from being a reseller — CDTS holds both.
What does Carrier DEP let you do that other resellers cannot?
Zero-touch enrolment requires a device to be registered in Apple Business Manager, and devices bought on a carrier plan normally are not. Carrier DEP lets an authorised party register them, so they enrol supervised on first boot. It also works retrospectively on fleets you already own. Very few Australian small-to-medium businesses are enabled for it.
Do we have to buy our Apple hardware from CDTS?
No. We manage plenty of Apple estates where the hardware was bought elsewhere. Buying through us removes a handoff — devices arrive already in ABM, enrolled and recorded — but it is not a condition of the managed service.
Can you manage Apple devices in Microsoft Intune rather than Jamf?
Yes. We run both in production. Jamf goes deeper on Apple-specific management and tends to win where the Apple estate is large or complex; Intune wins where you are already invested in Microsoft management. The recommendation follows your environment.
Can you bring an existing, unmanaged iPhone fleet under control?
Usually. The path depends on how the devices were bought and whether they are supervised. Devices do need a reset to pick up a new zero-touch enrolment, so it is normally sequenced alongside a refresh or staged by cohort.
