Common questions about CDTS Secure Camera Application
What happens if there is no signal in the field?
Capture continues and transfer is deferred until connectivity returns, with the image held encrypted inside the application rather than written to the camera roll in the meantime.
Can images be stopped from reaching iCloud?
That is the point of it. Because photos are never written to the device photo library, there is nothing for iCloud Photos, a personal backup or a messaging app to pick up.
Where do the photos actually land?
An approved repository you nominate — a secure file server, a protected cloud environment or a document management system such as SharePoint. The destination is configured centrally, not by the user.
Is there an audit trail?
Yes. Capture and transfer events can be logged and exported to your SIEM, which is usually what makes the application acceptable to an assessor in an evidentiary context.
