Cloud & Infrastructure
Cloud where it earns its place, on-premises where it still makes sense, and a clear-eyed view of which is which. We design, migrate and operate both.
Very few organisations are all-cloud or all on-premises. Most run a mix, and the cost and risk usually sit in the joins — the file server nobody migrated, the line-of-business application that will not virtualise, the identity bridge that quietly became critical.
CDTS designs and runs that middle ground. We migrate what should move, right-size what has already moved, and properly operate what stays — including sovereign Australian hosting where data residency is a hard requirement.
We are equally happy to tell you a migration is not worth doing. Lift-and-shift into a hyperscaler has made plenty of environments more expensive and no more resilient.
Scope of the service
The components we deliver and operate under this service. Scope is agreed per engagement — this is the standard shape.
Azure design & migration
Landing zone design, workload assessment and migration, with governance and cost controls applied from the start.
Sovereign & Australian hosting
Australian-hosted infrastructure, including AUCloud, where data residency and sovereignty are non-negotiable requirements.
Server & virtualisation management
Windows and Linux server builds, patching, monitoring and lifecycle — on-premises, hosted or in the cloud.
Identity infrastructure
Active Directory, Entra ID and hybrid identity design, cleanup and ongoing operation.
Cost & capacity management
Right-sizing, reserved capacity and licence position reviews — cloud bills tend to grow in the absence of anyone owning them.
Resilience & availability design
Redundancy, failover and recovery objectives designed to the tolerance the business actually has, then tested.

Common questions
Can you guarantee our data stays in Australia?
For most workloads, yes — but it depends on the service, not the vendor. We map data residency component by component, including where backups, logs and support access sit, and put it in writing before anything moves. Where a requirement is absolute we deploy to Australian-hosted platforms such as AUCloud or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Should we move everything to the cloud?
Usually not. Lift-and-shift into a hyperscaler has made plenty of environments more expensive and no more resilient. We assess workload by workload and are happy to recommend leaving something where it is — the assessment tells you which is which.
Our cloud bill keeps growing. Can you do anything about it?
Almost always. Cloud spend grows in the absence of anyone owning it. Right-sizing, reserved capacity, orphaned resources and licence position reviews typically recover a meaningful share of a bill that has never been reviewed.
Do you support on-premises servers, or only cloud?
Both. Plenty of environments will run on-premises infrastructure for years yet, often for good reasons. We build, patch, monitor and operate it properly for as long as it needs to exist.
